Fertig!

…da kann der Winter kommen

Grab 3 different skeins of your beloved chunky yarns and big sticks – this cowl will be finished in nearly no time….

Material:

3 different skeins with a yardage of around 65 to 109 yards, for example Kureyon Air by  Noro (as yarn 1 we recommend one with colorchanges )

Circular needle 10mm

Darning needle

Crochet hook

One row chevron:

Stitchcount multiples of 8 plus 1

K1, *k3, yo, k3, k2tog*, repeat from * to *

Variation: purl all stitches in wrong side rows

Strawberry pattern:

Stitchcount multiples of 8 plus 1

RS: k1, * k3, slip1 wyib*, repeat from * to * row ends with k4

WS: k2, *slip1 wyif, p3*, repeat from * to *, row ends with slip1, k2

Variation: knitting instead of purling on WS

Let’s start:

With yarn 1 cast on 33 stitches and knit one row

Chevron part:

8 rows one row chevron with yarn 1

2 rows one row chevron variation with yarn 2

6 rows one row chevron variation with yarn 1

2 rows one row chevron with yarn 3

6 rows one row chevron variation with yarn 1

2 rows one row chevron variation with yarn 2

8 rows one row chevron with yarn 1

Cut yarns 2 and 3 when their rows are done leaving a 15cm long tail.

Strawberry part

Work in strawberry pattern changing yarn every row. Therefor, drop the working yarn and add in the next for the following row. And then again drop the working yarn and add in the third yarn. After you have finished this row, yarn 1 will be waiting for it’s next turn.

Work 52 cm in strawberry pattern. For adding some more texture, throw in one varied WS row every now and then.

Bind off all stitches.

Now fold your scarf to the left forming a three quarter circle and sew the bind off edge to the left edge of chevron part using a decorative cross stitch. Perhaps you will have to stretch out one of the both edges, depending on how tight or loosely you bound off.

Fringes:

Cut threads from your remaining yarns with 36cm length. Then, with a crochet hook (any size), pull bundles of three through the edges of the chevron part, fold to half and fix with an overhand knot. Incorporate the hanging tails of yarn 2 and 3 into the knots.

Done!

…now you are prepared for winter.
